Prepping with Clay Martin
For adults who can't prep good, and can't do other things good either.
Anyone who has been paying attention has felt an ominous wind blowing. With entire blocks of major cities being cordoned off and patrolled by communist revolutionary wannabes and an election tainted by fraud, it is no wonder that tension in the populous is running high. Record breaking firearm sales in 2020 is evidence that fear of widespread civil unrest has gone mainstream. If you are like me, and I believe there are many of us out there, you are always liked the idea of prepping but never took it seriously. America will never REALLY break into upheaval, right? Portland has proven to us that even if unrest is on a small scale, we need to be prepared.
So, like me you are a little late to the party. You may have a bit of extra food, a few guns, and a decent amount of ammo but realistically you are ill prepared for local violence. This is where former Marine, Army Green Beret, prepper, and competitive shooter Clay Martin comes in. Martin has recently published two books on the subject, Concrete Jungle and Prairie Fire.
Concrete Jungle, which can be purchased here on amazon, focuses on the urban dweller and the primary goal of civil disobedience in the city, GET OUT! Martin strips away the fantasy of turning Joe six pack into a hardened warrior and offers realistic tactics and advice that truly anyone could plan and execute. The most refreshing aspect of Concrete Jungle is the scalability of the authors teachings. Everyone From the rich to laborers living paycheck to paycheck will find value in the information given. Do you have a few bucks for supplies, a backpack, and legs? Then concrete jungle is for you.
I have recently checked out of the concrete jungle moving from our postage stamp lot in a packed San Antonio neighborhood to semi-rural Texas. With a decent chunk of land and a small town I am ready for the next phase, Prairie Fire.
Once again Martin brings realistic, scalable advice that anyone can start to implement. No need for war wagons, 10k rounds of ammunition and a helicopter here (although if you have the loot, go for it). What the author focuses on that very few other “preppers” do, is people. That’s right even in Civil War 2 or the apocalypse you’re still going to have to deal with people. Martin gives excellent insight from his experiences as a green beret to help anyone with basic social skills to find trusted local contacts, build a relationship and in turn, a network of like-minded people whose skills or resources will be key to surviving lawlessness. Anyone who is serious about preparing for any form of dystopian future will be well served to purchase both Concrete Jungle and Prairie Fire.
